Raising Rabbits On a Large Scale

According to statistics, the cost of feed in rabbit farms accounts for 78% to 84% of the total cost, while the feed waste in well-run rabbit farms is controlled at 5% to 8%, and the feed waste in poorly done rabbit farms is as high as 20%～ 30%. How to reduce feed waste and improve the economic benefits of raising rabbits requires comprehensive measures.

1. Feed the full-price compound pellet feed. 

The design of the diet should be based on the production performance, the growth stage, and physiological conditions of Rex, Meat, and long-haired rabbits. The conversion rate of feeding pelleted feed can be increased by 6% to 11% compared with feeding powder feed. The feeding amount of the rabbit varies according to the size of the rabbit. The time is generally 8:00 in the morning, around 1 noon, and 7:00 in the evening. Using our rabbit feeder, we have a variety of feeder sizes to choose from, as shown below:

First, the feeding amount of rabbits is generally about three or two weights, and some are even more;

Second, the feeding time of rabbits is generally set at 8:00 in the morning, around 1 at noon, and 7:00 in the evening;

Third, some rabbits are more hypocritical. The amount of feeding still has time to be carefully observed by the owner;

Fourth, feeding time and the feeding amount of rabbits can also be determined with reference to other rabbits.

Small rabbits have a special stomach, so when feeding, the best way is to eat small and frequent meals. It is recommended feeding 4-5 times a day. We can observe our little rabbits and let us master their work and rest. After mastering, we can set the feeding amount and feeding time for our little rabbits according to the rabbit's habits, so as to ensure the physical and mental health of our little rabbits.

The feeding amount of the rabbit varies according to the size of the rabbit. The time is generally 8:00 in the morning, around 1 noon, and 7:00 in the evening. Some of them need our owners to observe carefully and take good care of our little rabbits. 2. Prevent the rabbit from picking up the material. 

The pressed pellets should not be exposed to the sun, and should be dried in the shade or concentrated in the sun for no more than 30 minutes to prevent the feed from being scraped due to excessively hard feed. The granular material should be used after sieving to prevent the material from being scraped due to too much powder. The amount of each feeding should not exceed 2/3 of the feed grain. Sufficient and clean drinking water is provided. Rabbits start drinking water every 5 to 8 minutes after feeding. Once the water supply is insufficient or the drinking water is not clean, they will be anxious and start to dig the cage door, food trough and the water tank. For the rabbit drinker, be sure to choose the most suitable one, which can avoid the stress reaction of rabbits, or choose rabbit drinking nipple. There are various styles to choose from, which can avoid water waste to the greatest extent.

Comprehensive corrections to rabbits with "craving for food":

(1) Put a brick in front of the trough, and the correction rate is 10% to 20%.

(2) Gradually increase the amount of feed to the normal feed intake for rabbits with a habit of picking up food for 1 to 3 days (no feeding or adding a little material), and repeat this method once the "craving" occurs again. Usually 2 to 3 times, the correction rate is 65% to 74%.

(3) Cut off the forelimb nails, the correction rate is 7% to 13%.

(4) The design of the feeding trough is reasonable, and the overturned feeding trough can effectively prevent the rabbit from picking up the material.

(5) Resolutely do not reserve the rabbits for breeding with "feeding addiction".

3. The combination of raising rabbits and raising pigs. 

According to practice, the leftover material and part of the rabbit manure are used in the diet of fattening pigs, and the addition amount is 8% to 14%. 18 to 50 days old rabbit manure can be directly added 6% to 11%. Rabbit feeder can avoid the spillage of feed to a great extent and save feed.

4. Breeders should have a sense of responsibility. 

Feeding staff should be standardized when feeding, and the freshly picked material should be picked up in the rabbit feeder in time. This is the most direct and effective measure to reduce feed waste.

5. Keep the feed properly. 

To prevent rat, bird, and mildew damage to raw materials, raw materials should be placed in a ventilated, dry, shading, and safe place, and the pressed granules should be properly stored.

6. Improve the various of production indicators of the rabbit farm. 

This is a measure to indirectly control feed waste, and it is also a key link to obtain high benefits of raising rabbits, such as the conception rate of mother rabbits, the rate of live litter, the survival rate of pups, and the survival rate of young rabbits. In addition, the length of pellets for feeding young rabbits is preferably 0.8-1.2 cm, and the rabbit feeder is preferably 20-30 cm in length, 7-10 cm in width, and 4-6 cm in depth. Rex rabbits over 1.5 kg should be fed separately, which is conducive to the growth of the coat, and does not cause feed waste due to rushing for food.
