Precautions for breeding quail

There are many characteristics of quail, such as fast growth, early maturity, a large number of eggs, less feed consumption, fast slaughter, and many other advantages. The meat quality of quail is very good, and the sales situation is relatively stable. It is the best choice for breeding.

1. Quails like to live in a warm and dry environment. Quails are very adaptable to temperature and can grow well within the range of 16 degrees to 30 degrees. The growth of quails will be affected if the temperature is lower than 15 degrees or more than 30 degrees.

2. Quails are very timid and easily frightened, so try to avoid strangers, large livestock, and sudden excessive noise during the breeding process, which will cause quails to panic, run away, etc., and easily hurt their heads. During breeding, we must avoid such situations to reduce unnecessary injuries.

3. The quail grows very fast, weighing about 70 to 75 grams when hatched. After 45 to 50 days of breeding, the quail will mature and begin to lay eggs. At this time, the weight can reach 120 to 125 grams

1. When the quail is 120 to 125 grams, it should be well-developed, healthy and disease-free, and plump. Such quails are most suitable for breeding quails. The ratio of male to female is 1:3, that is, 1 male quail should be matched with 3 female quails so that the quails can mate in a natural environment.

2. Select breeding eggs for artificial incubation. The time for laying eggs should not exceed 7 days or the hatching rate will be relatively low. When hatching, put the eggs in a room at 25 degrees for preheating, and then put them in the hatching belt. The temperature is 38 to 39 degrees. The humidity in the hatching belt should be controlled at 60% and 65%. , put them in the breeding box for temporary raising.

1. The temperature of quails should be controlled at 36-37 degrees from 1 day to 6 days after birth, 34-35 degrees from 7 days to 14 days, and 32-33 degrees from 15 days to 24 days. After 25 days, the temperature can be lowered according to the growth of quails. Normally, it is lowered by one degree per day.

2. Quails should start drinking water within 24 hours after breaking their shells. Add 0.01% potassium permanganate to the water. After preparing the drinking water, let the quails drink it. When starting to drink water, make sure there is clear water in the tank every day. After the quail shells are broken, 14 to 16 hours of light conditions must be guaranteed every day. If there is no sunlight, light can be used for irradiation. The optimum temperature for adult quail laying eggs is 20-22 degrees Celsius. It should be adjusted according to temperature changes. In summer, ventilation should be strengthened, stocking density should be reduced, and heatstroke prevention work should be done well.

3. The feeding formula for quail mainly includes 52% corn flour, 27% bean cake, 5% bran, 10% fish meal, 5% leaf meal, and 1% bone meal. If conditions permit, farmers can also add 10 grams of vitamins to the feed. Feed quails from 1 day to 7 days old 6 to 8 times a day. Reduce the number of feedings according to the growth of the quails every week. Normally, they feed once a week.

4. During the breeding process of quail seedlings, the density should be well controlled. It can be controlled at 120 to 150 per square meter within 1 to 7 days after birth, 80 to 100 per square meter at 7 to 15 days, and 60 to 80 per square meter at 15 to 25 days.

5. After the quail shells are broken, 14 to 16 hours of light conditions should be guaranteed every day. If there is no sunlight, light can be used for irradiation.

6. During the growth process of quail, it is necessary to do a good job in the sanitation of the pen to avoid the possibility of quail getting sick.

7.Breeding density

Quails are small and exquisite and do not take up space, but this does not mean that farmers can increase the breeding density, because a high density will seriously affect the breeding income, from fattening to egg production. When the density is too high, the activity of the whole group of quails will decrease to varying degrees, followed by a decline in the fattening effect, and more and more quails will become thinner. Because the quails do not have enough space, they will be less and less willing to move around. Finally, it is the stage of frequent breeding accidents.
